Descendants found refuge in the Dutch Cape Colony. }}Philippe Martinet, father of Françoise Martinet, cannot be the same person as Philippe Martinet, husband of Marie Jacqueline Perrot. Indeed, on the marriage record of Françoise Martinet (3 Dec 1679 in Épense, Marne), it is said that her father is deceased, while the marriage of Philippe Martinet and Marie Jacqueline Perrot takes place later (30 Jan 1687 in Le Mayet-de-Montagne, Allier), and they have several children after that. Biography

Philippe Martinet, husband of Marie Burgeat, was the father of Françoise Martinet. His daughter married Louis Cordier in Épense on 12 March 1679. Philippe had died before this date, probably in Donnement where Françoise was from.<ref>The entry for Françoise Martinet's marriage to Louis Cordier in the register for Epense states that she is from Donnement : "Aujourdhui troisième decembre mil six cent septante neuf a été Béni en Cette Eglise le mariage de Louis Cordier veuve de maria maquart et de francoise Martinet fille de defunt philippe Martinet et de Marie Burgeat demeurant a Donnement. Ledit Louis Cordier demeurant a Bournonville en presence des freres Jean et David Martinet, Theodore Layr et Jean Dommartin lequel tous ont signe". Birth ===Philippe Martinet's date and place of birth are not currently known. The date of 25 September 1639, at Saint-Clément (Allier) refer to another Philippe Martinet, who married Jacqueline Perrot in 1687 - at least eight years after the death of Françoise Martinet's father.
