About Phillip Snell Blackmore
"It is with feelings of deep regret (writes our Beaufort correspondent) that I am called upon to announce the death of Mr Philip Blackmore, proprietor of the Saxon Consols Hotel, Waterloo, and a very old and much respected resident of this district. Some time ago Mr Blackmore was crushed by a horse and injured internally, this being ultimately the cause of his death. Deceased, who was 66 years of age, had spent about 25 years in this neighbourhood, and in many ways took a deep interest in the prosperity of the place, especially in mining".
