Notes for PHILIP CROMMETT:
According to the book "History of Durham" (New Hampshire), Philip bought land at Sandy Bank from Hugh Dunn; this land was above Hook Island Falls, in Lee. He ran a ferry at Lampril River in 1671. In 1673, he had a grant of six acres adjoining his land at Lampril River.
Children of PHILIP CROMMETT and MARGARET are:
"There seems to have been a name change from Cromwell to Crommett (or Crummett) by John Cromwell, a soldier in the Continental Army during the revolution; for what reason, I don't know. And I don't even have proof of this, just rumor."
