Phoebe Wells

Phoebe Wells was the daughter of Henry and Mary (Miller) Hughes.

She married Pearley H. Wells around 1912 and he preceded her in death on November 18, 1956.

She had six children: a son, Pearley Wells, Jr. and five daughters, Merle Wells, Rayburn Sander, Edna Opal Klemeyer, Imogene Clark, and Nancy Hogan.

Mrs. Phoebe Wells 77, of Lawrenceville, died August 15, 1965 at the Lawrenceville Co. Memorial Hospital after illness of two months. She was the daughter of Henry and Mary Miller Hughes. She was married to Pearly Wells who preceded her in death in 1956. She was a member of the First Methodist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. She is survived by six children; Miss Merle Wells, Springfield, Illinois; Mrs. Rayburn Sander, Evansville, Illinois; Mrs. Edna Opal Klemeyer, Long Grove, Illinois; Imogene Clark, Bridgeport; Nancy Hogan, Lawrenceville; Pearly Jr. Casper, Wyoming;one foster son, Maurice Stiker, Newcastle, Indiana; 15 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at the Emmons Chapel with Rev. C. H. Todd officiating. Burial was in the Lawrenceville Cemetery.
