Pierre Bergeron History

Pierre and four of his sons arrived in Quebec around 1665. Catherine died around the same time or earlier. Pierre was most likely recruited by a merchant named Eustache Lambert who frequently traveled to La Rochelle from Canada. Eustache had accompanied the Jesuits in their missions to the West from 1645 to 1647. He owned land in Lauzon, Quebec and was one of the earliest settlers there. Pierre and his sons were hired by Eustache in 1666 in Quebec City and lived on Eustache's farm called the Housing of St. Mary located on the coast of Lauzon in 1667 per census records. Pierre and Andre obtained a grant of eight acres between Eustache Lambert and John Carpenter's land on December 10, 1670. Pierre dies before 1681 in Lauzon, just before the census.
