Recording Executive Dies. New York - Pierre Bourdain, an executive in the classical-music recording industry, died of a heart attack Tuesday at his home in New York City. He was 57. Born in New York, Bourdain attended Yale University and served in the Army from 1951 to 1954. He worked in sales promotion for London Records and was classical merchandising manager for CBS Records in the 1960's and '70s. After several years as a private consultant to several record companies, he became co-manager of Orpheus Compact Disks in New York. Bourdain is survived by two sons, Anthony and Christopher Bourdain. Pierre's parents were Pierre Michel Bourdain 1906 - 1932 born in Tries Maine, Loire, France and Gabrielle Riousse 1893 - 1966 also born in France. Pierre married Gladys Sacksman in 1954 in New York, New York. They had two children, Anthony Michael 1956 - 2018 and Christopher born 1959 in New York City, New York.
