They were then imprisoned at Fort Edward until 1763. This family was imprisoned at Fort Beausejour in 1763. In 1768, PierreMelanson is one of the "original tennants" of Desbarres at the Champs-Elysees. In 1794, their three sons, Jean...,David and Pierre... owned43 cattle and 53 sheep and as a consequence were more prosperous thanother Acadians in the region and also more than many English. <ref>Bona-vol.2,p.689-b.yr,marr.info.
