The information about his origins claimed in a 1912 genealogy -- namely that he was a son of William Van Deursen and Elizabeth Gysberts have subsequently been refuted. Therefore, they have been detached as parents from this profile.
"The church records for Deursen in the province of North Brabant begin in 1614; this leaves only the possibility of searching any existing notarial records, but these are usually incomplete and therefore a search is often inconclusive."
