About Plt. Off. Francis John Blackwood
Francis Blackwood was the son of Francis Peter and Frances Mildred Blackwood; husband of Brenda Blackwood, of Pedmore, Worcestershire. Birth Registration Number: (reg. 1914/19729). Attended Brooklyn School, Wellington. Killed on Air Operations. Pilot Officer F J Blackwood: missing believed killed; Spitfire X4502, 140 Squadron, aircraft failed to return from a photographic reconnaissance flight over the Cherbourg area of France, 2 June 1942.
