Tidings of the death of Mr. P. E. Cazneau, which occurred on the 6th inst, came as a shock to his many friends and acquaintances in Portland. It is stated that his death was the result of a breakdown in health. To his bereaved wife and young daughter, Ailsa, the sympathy, of the community is extended., Deceased was formerly a partner in the Portland "Guardian," and latterlv representative of the Lithegow "Mercury," which position he relinquished some three and a half years ago, to take over a stationery and printing business in Bega. He always took a keen interest in matters concerning the welfare of the town, and was also interested in music and sport. A man, of exemplary character, his services to the "Mercury" were appreciated, and his death at such a comparatively early age represents a loss to the community of . Bega.
