Pressco Bryan

From a Baca County, Colorado Newspaper, July 1913

Pressco Bryan was born in Davis County, Iowa October 3, 1882, and was killed by contact with an electric wire in Rupert, Idaho while employed by the Mountain State Telephone and Telegraph Company. He had been in the employ of the above named company for some years and held the position of Construction Foreman.

In the year of 1888, he came to this county with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Bryan, and settled near Konantz. Here he grew to manhood respected by all who knew him. He was an honest, energetic, ambitious young man. He obtained a very fair education, first in the District School, later at Garden City and Salina, Kansas.

February 12, 1908 he was married to Miss Ethel Konkel of Greeley, Colorado, a former Baca County girl, and sis of G. E. Konkel of Stonington. She is remembered as one of Baca County's most popular young ladies.

He was converted to God in his early youth and held his membership in the M.E. Church at Pueblo at the time of his death.

When the accident occurred, his wife and little ones were visiting at Greeley and it came as a terrible shock to them. He leaves two children, Carroll age 3 years and, ruby, age two years. His body was taken to Greeley for burial. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Heutt of the First M.E. Church of Greeley on Saturday, July 5, after which the body was laid to rest in Linn Grove Cemetery.

The hearts of many friends of this place go out in deepest sympathy to the young wife and little son and daughter who are left to fight the battles of life without the comfort and help of their loved one.
