Roy Bryan, son of Marion and Lucinda Cameron Bryan, was born July 14, 1891 near Walsh Colo., and departed this life at the Powers Medical Center at Lamar, Colo., on Jan. 4, 1970, at the age of 78 years, 5 months, and 21 days.
Roy was born on his parent's homestead near their present homesite, 11 1/2 miles southeast of Walsh, He has lived his entire life in Baca County.
He was married to Ida Mae McGowan on May 10, 1915. To this union were born, Virgil Culvin and Horace Dewain. He was converted at an early age and was a faithful Christian and loved his Lord at the time of his passing. He faithfully attended the Wesleyan Church in Walsh.
Ray spent all his life on the farm. He was always ready to help his neighbors and community whenever he could. His warm and frindly jandshake will be sadly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Horace Dewain, who lost his life in 1945 while serving his country; five brothers, Sam, Presco, Eldridge, Marion, and Harvey; one sister, who died in infancy; and a daughter-in-law.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife Ida Bryan of Walsh; a son, Virgil and his wife of Walsh; a brother, Fred of Walsh; two sisters, Mamie Wilkins, of Pueblo, Colo. and Emma Smith, of Amarillo, Texas; 2 sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; one granddaughter and her husband; four great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
