Prince Yuri Nikolaevitch Zaitzevsky Shirshoff

In my family, the first child was Maria, who lived only to age two (1887-1889). (See McCarthy Zaitzevsky family tree.) The second sister was Nadezda (Hope), who eventually emigrated to Harbin, China, then to the United States. She settled in California, married Cyrille Polovtzoff, and had two children, Oleg and Zlata.

My brothers were Igor, Oleg, Yuri and Lev. Igor emigrated to Sweden and had one child, Rurik. Rurik Zaitzewsky (Swedish spelling of family name) married twice and had two children by his first wife Sonia: Maria and Alexander. Maria has a son, Jacinto, now 16, and Alexander has two children. Rurik married a second time to Ekaterina, and they have two small children. My brother Oleg Zaitzevsky emigrated to Mexico, married and had a son and a daughter with his first wife, none with his second. He has grandchildren. My brother Lev emigrated to the United States and married three times; he had two children by his first wife Natalia Dedouloff: Nikita and Tatiana. Nikita and his wife Cynthia live in Brookline, Massachusetts, a suburb of Boston. They have two children, Peter and Maya. Peter is single and lives in Rhode Island. Maya is married to Daniel Gold and lives in California; Maya and Daniel have two sons, Alexander and Christopher. Tatiana died at age 27 and did not marry. Until recently, my brother Lev's third wife, Olga, still lived in Philadelphia where she had moved after Lev's death. Olga died on December 2, 2012.

My nephew Oleg Polovtzoff married Ksana in California. There were no children, and Oleg and Ksana are both now deceased. Zlata married three times in California. Zlata and her husbands are now deceased. She had one child Robert Bicoff with her first husband; her second husband adopted Robert, who still lives in California and is unmarried.
