226. David Crafts' (son of Col. Eleazer6) (107) (Ancestry Benjamin4, Benjamin', Samuel', Lieut. Griffin1). Born at Manchester, Mass., 5 Oct., 1771. Married 29 Nov., 1792, Priscilla Allen, daughter of Malachi and Ruth (Edwards) Allen of Manchester. She was born 5 Oct., 1772. She died 28 July, 1794, M. 22. He married (second) 22 Dec, 1796, Anna Foster, daughter of John and Bethiah (Bennet) Foster. She was born 20 June, 1774, and died 19 Nov., 1808, M. M. He married (third) 4 June, 1809, Elizabeth Girdler, daughter of John Stevens and Joanna (Allen) Girdler. She was born 14 May, 1788, and died 31 Jan., 1872, M. 83. He was bred to the sea and followed it for forty-five years; was wrecked but once (while in the Bay of Biscay), and while master never lost a vessel. He was many years in the service of the Boston shipping merchants, Win. Gray and Eben Parsons. He accumulated a competency, and spent the last eighteen years of his life at his home in Manchester. He represented his town in the State Legislature in 1838, and held many town offices. He was a member of the Board of Selectmen of Manchester in 1811, 1813, 1814, 1820, 1840, and 1841. He was also a member of the Masonic fraternity, having joined the order while in England, when quite a young man. He was noted for his kindness, and pleasant courteous demeanor toward all, as well as for his benevolence, and strictly moral habits. His portrait, painted in oil, is in possession of his son Eleazer. He died 8 Feb., 1848, M. 76. He had fifteen children, all born in Manchester, as follows: (See picture of document)

452. Priscilla Crafts (daughter of David") (226) (Ancestry Eleazer1, Benjamin4, Benjamin', Samuel', Lieut. Griffin'). Born in Manchester, Mass., 14 July, 1794. Married 29 Aug., 1813, Samuel Cheever, son of Ezekiel and Susannah (Butler) Cheever. He was born 23 Feb., 1788. He was a farmer in Manchester, and filled many offices in the town, and was also a representative to the General Court from Manchester. His wife Priscilla died 4 Feb., 1815, m. 21. He married (second) 3 Sept., 1815. Fannie Allen, daughter of John and Hannah Allen. (She had one child, Henry Cheever, born 27 June, 1816.) She died 6 Mch., 1819, and he married (third) 10 Oct., 1819, Nancy Cheever, widow of his brother, Jacob Cheever. and daughter of William and Elizabeth Hassam. She had two children by her first marriage, and six by her second marriage, and died 5 Apr., 1871. He died 18 Nov., 1860, M. 72. Priscilla had one child, namely:
I. Samuel Cheever Jr., b. at Manchester, Mass., 5 June. 1814, m. 17 Sept., 1840. Susan Hannah Friend, dau. of Daniel and Lucy (Knight) Friend. She was b. 18 Dec, 1820. No ch. They resided in Manchester, where he was a minister of the Baptist denomination. He died there 9 July, 1892, ae. 78. She resides in Manchester.
