Priscilla Hatch Widow of Philander Hatch, Dies
Mrs. Priscilla B. Muir Hatch, 78, widow of Philander Hatch who was a prominent businessman and banker, died Tuesday night in a Salt Lake hospital of pneumonia after a illness of about three weeks.
Mrs. Hatch was born in Salt Lake City, April 19, 1858, a daughter of William S. and Jane R. Muir.
She was married to Philander Hatch on September 23, 1883 and the couple celebrated their golden wedding in 1933. Mr. Hatch died in 1934.
Mrs Hatch was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and organized the Priscilla club in Woods Cross. She at one time compiled a history of Woods Cross.
She is survived by two sons and a daughter, Glen A. and Willard S. Hatch, Mrs. Richard F. Hatch, Woods Cross; four sisters, Mrs. Margaret M. Hatch, Scipio; Mrs. Polly M. Grant, Woods Cross; Mrs. May M. Oliver and Mrs. Bert Trice, Salt Lake; five brothers, Dan Muir, Salt Lake; Leo J. and George Muir, Los Angeles; W. H. Muir, Inglewood, Calif. and Abram Muir, San Francisco.
Funeral services will be held in the South Bountiful chapel, Sunday at 1 p. m. with Bishop E. T. Hatch officiating. Interment will be in the Bountiful cemetery.
