About Private Elisha Roller

Elisha Roller served in the Confederate Army during the American Civil War in Company B, 11th Missouri Infantry Regiment. He enlisted on August 7, 1862 in Keetsville (now Washburn), Missouri. His regiment originally formed as the 8th Missouri Infantry Regiment, but was renamed as the 11th Regiment in order to avoid confusion with Col. Mitchell's 8th Missouri Infantry. It was also called the 2nd Regiment. He was slightly wounded in his heel in the action at Pleasant Hill, Lousiana on April 9, 1864. Elisha Roller, as part of Gen. Edmund Kirby Smith's Army of the Trans-Mississippi, surrendered on May 26, 1865 at New Orleans, La. He was paroled on June 7, 1865 at Alexandria Va..
