A Patriot of the American Revolution for MASSACHUSETTS with the rank of PRIVATE.- DAR Ancestor # A082790
Date and place of birth have also been (erroneously?) reported to be April 4, 1745 at Dudley, Worcester County, Massachusetts.
Bio notes: John enlisted on May 1, 1775 as a private in Capt. Walbridge's Co., Col David Brewer and Rufus Putnam's Regiments of the Massachusetts Militia during the Revolutionary War. He was discharged on January 1, 1776 and was granted a pension upon application Sept. 14, 1832. He was living in Onondaga Co., New York at the time of his pension application. He was twice married, first to Mary Willard and second to Hannah Wilcox. John died in the "Old Brick" home of his son-in-law Eli McNett. The "Old Brick" can still be seen from his gravesite.
