He was a member of the Montevideo-Pocitos Lions Club for more than three decades, holding different positions and actively participating in various works of a social and cultural nature. In turn, he wrote several articles for the institutional newsletter, as well as for LION International magazine.
He pioneer, together with Prof. Hamlet D'Amato Macchi, of visual investigation in primary schools in the city of Montevideo, Uruguay.

Papasso is a typically Calabrese surname, from Cassano allo Ionio in the Cosenza area. Additions provided by Stefano Ferrazzi of Arbëreshë origin, show that he is probably of Greek-Albanian origin, since the surname Papasso was born from an Italianization of the Greek surname Papas (Peloponnese region) with the literal meaning of priest.
