About Pte. Eric John Goudie

Eric John Goudie was born in New Norfolk, Derwent, Tasmania, Australia. His parents were John Jasper Goudie and Eliza Mary Jane Goudie (nee Howard) who had married on 12 June 1886. Eric moved to New Zealand and during World War I served with the Otago Infantry Regiment, 2nd Battalion. Eric was killed in action at Ypres and is remembered on the Messines Ridge New Zealand Memorial.
