Tauranga, Bay of Plenty, North Island, New Zealand
Hughie Ngarino Tutahi was the son of Tomika Ngarino Tūtahi (1863-1959) and Ema Wharerau Brown Tūtahi (nee Paki) (c. 1869-1945) of Tauranga. He served with the 28th Māori Battalion, C Company during World War II (Service No. WWII 39731). Hughie was killed on active service.
