About Pte. Norman Griffin
Norman Griffin Son of Jane Watson Griffin (nee Wardropper) & Norman Griffin of Tauranga New Zealand. Sister of Lillian Jean Griffin @ brother of Raymond Griffin (Griff). Norman was born in Durham England and travelled to New Zealand with his parents for his fathers health. They settled in Tauranga, Bay of Plenty. He was a keen sailor and at the Tauranga Yatch Club they still have a race held in his Honour. "The Norman Griffin Cup", He enlisted towards the end of the war and was killed in action in Italy. He left behind his Mother, Sister & Brother as his Father passed away due to ill health in 1936. Source: Find A Grave.
