Vollenspit History, by Wikipedia

Origin

According to Pastor Kumann zu Bockum, von Volenspit's family estate is said to have been located in Kuhkamp near the farm Schulze Blasum in Bockum , where the half-destroyed ditches and ramparts could still be seen around 1800. [1] Heinrich Petzmeyer contradicts this view, in whose opinion the facilities go back to the Smeling family; Kumann linked her incorrectly to Volenspits. Otherwise, little is known about the origin and origins of this family.

Dietrich Vullespit appears as a witness in 1210 during a legal action by Count Adolf I. von der Mark .

Dietrich Volenspit II († 1289), knight, possibly his son, belonged to Count Engelbert I von der Mark the closest entourage in 1261. In 1269, his brother Johann was also employed in the Brandenburg region. From then on, both were constant companions of the Counts of Mark and were used in the constant feuds and wars of the rulers of Brandenburg. Dietrich is said to have infected the city of Kamen over the heads of his own people in 1264 as part of a feud with the Archbishop of Cologne . The chronicler Levold von Northoff can not state the exact purpose of this procedure. He assumes, however, that in this way they would prevent the enemy from seeking refuge in the settlement [2] . On the trip to Tecklenburgin 1277 Dietrich and his liege lord were captured by Hermann II von Lohn ( Stadtlohn ) and were taken to Bredevoort Castle , where Engelbert died. His son and successor Eberhard I. von der Mark besieged the castle the following year, directing the crew and freeing the prisoners from the Brandenburg region. The salary had to surrender 50 marks, which Dietrich Volenspit claims to have had with him when he was arrested. Count Eberhard appointed Dietrich his bailiff in 1280.

Since 1269, the Volenspit brothers have been part of the team at Landesburg Mark . The castle's crew service demanded that they be on constant alert. The power struggles in the region repeatedly led to the outbreak of hostilities. Von Volenspit then had to meet to defend the castle. Her duties also included protecting the city of Hamm . In peacetime they sat on their laurels, let their peasants work for them, and waited for the next battle.

Theoderich Vollenspit , knight, gave the Welver monastery a pension from his home in Cunne in Lo parish in the event of his death in 1281 as a memorial to himself and his family. [3]

Volenspit to Nordherringen

It is not entirely clear whether Dietrich already had Haus Nordherringen as county.

Only his son Pultian Volenspit is certified. He came up with the plan to build a chapel on Nordherringen. He emphatically recommended this task to his sons Gottfried and Dietrich.

In 1312, Gottfried and Dietrich Volenspit agreed on the founding and construction of this chapel on Gut Nordherringen and handed over the Afhuppe house in Methler parish for decoration. In 1322, Volenspits donated the chapel, which was then consecrated by Auxiliary Bishop Hermann. All necessary approvals had been obtained in 1327. Archbishop Heinrich von Köln could then announce that there was a chapel in Herringen, with pensions and a priest. In 1350 Gottfried Vollenspit acquired the goods in Merschen from Wilhelm Merschen in Merschhoven the peasants in the parish of Bockum as a county. There he also bought the goods called Pipelbroke by Friedrich gt. Kotmann. [4]

Dietrich Volenspit , Gottfried's eldest son, exchanged ownership of Steinfurt tithes in Ahlen and Sendenhorst parishes for an allod in Herringen with the noble Baldwin of Steinfurt . The house "Tom Bezege" was temporarily on the Beisey Nordherringen Steinfurter Foundation. Between 1370 and 1385, part of the Volenspit property went to the chapel, so that Nordherringen's house did not achieve any remarkable dominion among Volenspits. The few Kötter owned by the house lived south of the estate and on or near Beiseys. Between 1370 and 1388, the chapel experienced an unexpected enrichment.

Lambert Volenspit bought the principal 's office from his relatives; especially these were Godeke, Dietrich and his daughter Grete as well as Hermann von Herringen, who was married to Volenspits through his wife Gertrud. In 1383 , Mr. Goscath van Hetvelde made the chapel available when Lambert took over the parish of Heessen.

Hermann Vollenspit recorded in 1386: With fear and compulsion he was by Count Engelbert III. The field encouraged officials and servants to go to the church in Herringen to listen to services and receive the sacraments. Although he and sight Vurellern owner of Huises Northerringen and all sight Hussgesinde je and all interpreted toe vurg, Capellen went to hear worship, dabye to sight and the sacrament of the altar at once to receive .

Volenspit to Kissinchusen

Alexander Volenspit († 1323) received in the first half of the 14th century the houses zume Pote , Große Haus zu Bockum and an annual pension of 9 Soester Schillings 5 Pfennig from Hammer Kloster von Deutz zu Lehen.

Sander Volenspitte , his son, ruled in 1429 as feudal lord over Hove to Kissinchusen in Herringen parish.

Other Goods

Additional goods from the house Volenspit were in Lünern east of Unna (Volenspit gt. Dolberg), at Vorhelm (Volenspit gt. Vette) and at Heidemühlen in Uentrop municipality. Presumably they also inherited the nobles of Dolberg . From their extensive acquisitions, as independent sovereigns, they created their own feudal union.

Dietrich Vollenspit was born as the second son of Arnd Vollenspit († before 1485) in Heidemühle and his wife Anna, born Schnellenberg. When she became a widow, Anna entered the Kentrop monastery as a lay sister , where her daughter Ursula had become a nun as early as 1480. On 1 February 1498, Dietrich Vollenspit became bailiff (Drost) in Hamm. [5] A letter from the town of Soest addressed to him (Dietrich Volenspit, bailiff in Hamm) dates from 1505. [6]

In 1553 the heirs to the last full spit called power derselwigen or congenital Leens Eerffrechtigkeit to realpante in the Dorp tho Rinheren as their old ordinary Leens Maelplatzen . Among the eleven counties was also an alienated Deutz fief, the court in Kissingerhöfen.
