Pvt. Clisby B. Smith (Civil War)

Birth:  1822 Elliston (Madison County) Madison County Kentucky, USA Death:  Jun. 15, 1863 Greenup County Kentucky, USA

Clisby B Smith and his children lived on the land belonging to Billy Bryson. He was with the 22nd Vol Infantry and was wounded in the battle of Haynes Bluff just above Vicksburg, Ms on 27, 28, 29 of Dec, 1862. Taken to hospital in Paduach, Ky and discharged in March of 1863. Came back to Greenup and died at home on 15 June, 1863. I have to thank Elwood Tackett and others who set Clisby's stone in July of 2008. We owe much to these workers.
