Jeremiah was born in Cecil County, Maryland and enlisted in the Revolutionary War while living in Washington County, VA in 1780. He later lived in Tennessee and North Carolina. He fought in the Revolutionary War (possibly at King's Mountain and Guilford Courthouse with General Nathanael Greene). He moved to Alabama 1819 and is buried at Old Zion, up Highway 5 in Walker County.
