About Pvt John Banks

On Monday 19th inst., died John A. Banks, Esq. , the eldest son of the late Judge Banks, and worthy successor of his father at the Bar of Berks county. Mr.Banks had been long suffering from consumption, for some months past had not been able to come to his office. His death was, therefore, not unexpected, but was not the less a shock to his numerous friends |and to the community among which he had lived for the last thirty-two years. The death of Mr. Banks will be much felt at the Bar and by the Bench. He was one of those sound lawyers and capable men, who, in his preparation of business, aided the court in the administration of justice. If we are not mistaken he, will ...be especially missed by the young members of the profession, to whom his store of legal knowledge,in every department of the law, Was always freely and cheerfully opened. The crowning distinction of Mr. Banks' life is that he was an honest, as well as an able man, a kind of man unhappily growing rarer every day.* Reference: Find A Grave Memorial - SmartCopy: Aug 13 2019, 3:59:36 UTC
