Was a member of Company "D", 62nd Regiment, NC Troops of the Confederate Army
Hi, David. I'm from Graham County, though I've lived in Haywood for many years. I really appreciate all the work you've done on Find A Grave with Graham County people! I have some additional info about Phillip Shope that I would appreciate your adding, especially since he was a CSA soldier.

His full name was Phillip Nicholas Shope, born 1836 and died about 1915.

He served as a private in CO D, 62nd NC Infantry Regiment.

His wife was Rachel Rebecca McGaha and their children were Minnie, Jane, William Robert, Margaret, John, Elizabeth, James Marion, and Thomas Claymon Shope. Thanks so much, Fran Rogers #47089854* Reference: Find A Grave Memorial - SmartCopy: Mar 13 2023, 19:12:52 UTC
