About Pvt. Robert Samuel Colclough
Robert Samuel Colclough served in the British Armed Forces in the 12th Royal Lancers and the 77th Regiment of Foot. He served in the Crimean War, where he was present at the battles of Alma and Inkerman.
"According to my Uncle James Robert Colclough, Robert Samuel Colclough fought as a Bristish soldier in Russia, where he was wounded. He lost both an arm & a leg. There is a Samuel Colclough listed as a British soldier for the Crimean war. He was awarded a medal & 2 clasps for Battles won @ Inkerman & Alma in the Ukraine. Perhaps this is why he named one of his sons Inkerman Gerald Colclough. Inkerman Gerald Colclough then named his son Inkerman Donald Colclough."
