About Pvt. Samuel Kingsbury Osborne, MM
Samuel and his twin brother David served in WW1, both won the Military Medal for gallantry and devotion to duty.
Mr John Osborne, of Ashburton, this morning received advice that his twin sons, David Studleigh Osborne and Samuel Kingsbury Osborne, had been wounded in France on the same day, September 17. They are 23 years of age, and left with the Ninth Reinforcements.

Mr John Osborne, Allenton, received advice last evening that his twin son, Private K. Osborne, was killed in action on August 3. Private Osborne was born and educated at Willowby. He was wounded twice, and received the Military Medal for bravery at the battle of the Somme. His brother, Private D. Osborne is at present in a hospital in France.
