About Pvt. Thomas Ayers
Thomas Ayers served in the Union Army during the American Civil War as a Private in Company A, 31st Regiment, Illinois Infantry. He entered service on 15 Aug 1861 and mustered in on 18 Sep 1861 in Cairo, Illinois. He died of pneumonia at Fort Donelson, Tennessee on 28 Feb 1862.
