About Pvt. Timothy Spelman, Sr.
Timothy Spelman was one of the leaders of the migration from New England to found Granville Ohio. He was active in many important roles affecting the town. He wrote a hymn sung on the occasion of the departure of the residents of Granviile Massachusetts off on their expedition as New England pioneers to found Granville Ohio in 1805.
