About Pvt.(USA), George W. Murry
George W. Murry served in the Union Army during the American Civil War as a Private in Company A, 31st Illinois Infantry Regiment. He enlisted on August 22, 1861 and mustered in on September 18, 1861 in Cairo, Illinois. He contracted Chronic Diarrhea in December 1861 while his regiment was on an expedition in Kentucky and he died of that disease on March 27, 1862 in Tamaroa, Illinois.
