About Qazi Khuda Bakhsh
Qazi Khuda Bakhsh First Muslim Mayor of Karachi (3 May 1935 - 9 May 1936)
Born in Moro, Nawabshah district in 1895, Qazi Khuda Bakhsh had soon become a moving spirit after stepping into the political field with an aim to promote education and social development in Sindh, especially in Karachi. Late Qazi took numerous measures to strengthen the infrastructure of backward areas of the city, predominantly Muslim areas. Qazi had a deep interest in the proper upbringing of children and, as such, sponsored the Karachi Children Society of which he became a patron.
He was the founder of Sindh Muslim College, inaugurated by Quaid-i-Azam Mohammed Ali Jinnah, in 1942
