Jakob Szulim Duner, from Serock, Poland, arrived in the USA on Nov 3, 1923 on the Belgenland, which departed from Antwerp. Manifest Line Number 0005.

Ya'acov was sponsored by Abish Loewenstein, who "secured for him a seat of a reverend on a certain community" (according to Moshe Evenary). He settled in Brookyn in 1922 as Rabbi of the Brooklyn Jewish Center. (Neil Rosenstein, "The Unbroken Chain", Ch IV, Pg 248)

According to Henia Fuchs, "his son became famous and was the artist of the 'White House'". (This was a story perpetuated about his son, Ephraim, who was a famous artist - but not "of the White House".)
