Possible author of Sefer Ha-Chinuch

A Talmudical scholar and Halakhist. Sefer Ha’Chinuch (Book of Education) is ascribed to either R. Aahron Ha’Levi or R. Pinchas Ha’Levi of Barcelona. Sefer HaChinuch-one of the basic early works on Jewish thought that records all the 613 commandments of the Tora and offers reasons for their issuance. The book was simply intended to impart to Jewish youth a knowledge of the Law, and to present in simple form the principles of judiaism t the unlearned layman Studied under his father (or Grandfather) Yosef Ha’Levi and under his brother Pinchas as well as Nachmanides.
