Rabbi Avraham Dov was known for his righteousness and fear of Heaven. He was the son of Adil and Rabbi Yoske and was married to the daughter of Moshe Chenkes, known as Reb Moshe beHaRav, one of Rabbi Nachman's wealthy partners.
When R' Avraham's father-in-law, joined those who persecuted Rabbi Nathan during the years 1855-39, Rabbi Avraham Dov divorced Moshe Chenkes' daughter.
In 1836 he remarried taking the daughter of Rabbi Dov of Tcherin, a disciple of the Rebbe as his wife.
Rabbi Avraham Dov died in 1880. Of his children, a son and two daughters died during their childhood. He was survived by his son, Reb Yosef.
