Born 1842 in Lissa (Leszno), Posen, Gest. Nov. 27, 1898 in Glogau (Głogów), Silesia. Son of a community leader in Lissa, 1859-1869 JTS and Univ. Breslau, stayed in Bytom, Upper Silesia, in 1865 ; June 26, 1869 doctorate in Halle. 1869 applications in Berlin and Lissa, 1872-1898 Rb. in Glogau. Conservative attitude, influenced by Salomon Ludwig Steinheim; 1896 among the sixteen rabbis who approve the "Westphalian prayer book". Member of the Association of Israelite Teachers in Silesia and Posen (around 1883 / around 1887) and of the Comité of the Association for the Education of Israelite Orphans (1889).
