About Rachel Peale

Rachel Brewer (1744–1790) married Charles Willson Peale (1741-1827) in 1762, as his first wife, and bore him ten children. The sons included Raphaelle Peale (1774–1825), Rembrandt Peale (1778–1860), and Rubens Peale (1784–1865). Among their daughters, Angelica Kauffman Peale married Alexander Robinson (their daughter, Priscilla Peale Robinson, wed Dr. Henry Boteler) and Sophonisba Anguisciola Peale became the wife of Coleman Sellers.

Rachel was the first wife of Charles Willson Peale and the mother of 11 of his children, 5 of who died in infancy. The six children that lived to adulthood were: Raphaelle, Angelica Kauffman, Rembrandt, Titian Ramsey, Rubens and Sophonisba.
