Radelgar I, prince of Benevento

Radelgardo (... - 854 ) was a prince Lombard , prince of Benevento from ' 851 to' 854 . The eldest son of Radelchi I of Benevento and Caretrude, he succeeded his father at the death of these. He was succeeded just three years later by his brother, Adelchi , because his son, Gaideris , was still very young. Radelgardo also had a daughter, married to Landone III of Capua .

b) RADELGAR ([822]-[Nov/Dec] [853/54]). The Annales Beneventani record that "Radelgarius filius Radelchis princeps" succeeded his father in 849 as RADELGAR I Prince of Benevento[197]. The contemporary Epitaphium Radelcarii Principis names "Radelcarius, Beneventi celsa potestas"[198], arranged in the compilation immediately after the Epitaphium of his supposed mother. The Chonicon Monasterii Beneventani records the death in 854 of "Radelgarius Princeps"[199].
