About Ragnhild Asgautsdatter

Note: I'm interested in tracing her lineage, so I'm going to collect any clues we have about her parents below. These will be from various sources, at various levels of trust and support, but perhaps a pattern will emerge... Please feel free to add anything else you find! (JS)

  • "Folk og Fortid i Hol bind 1" suggests she's from Hesjedalen in Valdres
  • Several places suggest Hesjedal, Oslo (e.g. below) e.g. of Sander Sanderson, "Han skal ha funne seg gifte i Hesjedalen, og var å finne i Hallingdal etter 1590" (Must have been married in Hesjadalen) - I find this sentence in Hallingen, Issues 258-277 "Sander first came to Hesjedalen near Oslo, where he married Ragnhild Asgautsdatter, settled in Aal Prestegjeld (parish) in c. 1590(1592?)" (from [https://books.google.com/books?id=43vXAAAAMAAJ])
  • Of Sander Sanderson: "Denne "Sander-ætta" vart og gift inn i slektene på Mehus og Rygg i Kvisle, Hol," (this Sander-clansman" married into the family of Mehus and Rygg in Kvisle, Hol -- this combination of families/farms may suggest a link with the Trommald/Blekaberg line noted below, since they're also associated with Mehus and Rygg farms.
  • Below suggests Heggdal in Innvik-Nordfjord, which I haven't seen elsewhere
  • I often see Bleckaberg associated with her name, and indeed "Det fremkommer (i flg. Reinton ) i et tingbrev at Blekaberg var hennes odelsgods." [https://forum.arkivverket.no/topic/119933-34393-sander-sanderson-f-...] (Reinton, assumingly the author of Folk og Fortid i Hol) noted that Blekaberg was part of her estate goods). If so, I'm wondering if a good link for Ragnhild's family might be from the Trommald/Blekaberg line. This profile might be the link, i.e. her mother might be Gudbrand Knudson's daughter. [N.N. Knutsdtr.]
  • I have been unable to do a good tracking of the farm Røo (knowing Norwegian might be helpful in that case!) but since my understanding is that Sander Sanderson must have married into the family/farm, one guess is that it came down from Ragnhild's side. Perhaps this is the line to research? E.g. did the Trommald/Blekaberg/Gulsvik line own any land near Roo? They owned a great deal of land in Hallingdal in those days. Have seen the farm variously spelled Raaen, Roo, Rud, Ruud, Rude, and Røo. One old copy of Hallingen suggests that Sander Sanderson's son Sanders may have been born on Skjervheim and later moved to 'Raaen' however, so this might be a dead end (from [https://books.google.com/books?id=Ln3XAAAAMAAJ]).

Mest sannsynelig i fra Hesjedalen i Valdres. Folk og Fortid i Hol bind 1. Oslo er mest sannsynelig feil. Flere muligheter Heggdal i Innvik-Nordfjord, og Sigdal.
