Ralph arrived in America in the fall of 1682 on the Friend's Adventure as an indentured servant to Randal Blackshaw for four years. He is an approved ancestor for that vessel by the Welcome Society. Ralph Cowgill afterward married Randall Blackshaw's daughter. Ralph Cowgill no doubt received his fifty acres out of Blackshaw's 500 acres in Falls township, Bucks county. On March 1, 1696-7, Cowgill sold this tract to Joseph Kirkbride, and removed to Burlington, New Jersey. He married (second) at Burlington Meeting House, September 2, 1697, Susannah, of the town of Burlington, daughter of John Pancoast, late of Burlington. Later lived near Haddonfield, and in Springfield Twp near Burlington.

There is lots more good info at the above source.
Supposedly you can trace Ralph's Ancestry back to Charlemagne, as shown in this site: http://genealogy.ucan.us/ansegis/ansg61.htm This line was compiled by Dr. Arthur Edwin Bye, and apparently contains some imperfect sources. Also, it assumes that Ellen's maiden name is Stackhouse.
Removed from the Burlington Quaker Monthly Meeting to Chesterfield in 1716.
"Ralph Cowgill, a carpenter of the county of Bucks, in Pennsylvania, and Susannah Pancoast of Burlington, m. 2nd da, 7th mo, 1697."
Ralph's name appears in a list of those from Burlington to be excused from military duties (1704)
Ralph Cowgill received (into Burlington Monthly Meeting) by a certificate from Haddonfield Monthly Meeting 1741.
