

Ralph Shepard was one of the surveyors and fence viewers chosen for Muddy River (Brookline) by the inhabitants of Boston, 11 Mar 1700/1701; and he was againchosen fence viewer, 9 Mar 1701/1702. At a public meeting for the district of Muddy River, he was chosen Constable, 13 Mar 1703/1704. His will, dated 25Jan 1722, proved 18 Jun 1722, mentions land in Milton, Brookline, and Roxbury;provides for Mary, "my dearly beloved wife"; and for sons John and Ralph (named as executors) and daughters Mary Williams and Hannah Tucker, as well as daughters Sarah, Abigail and Elizabeth Shepard (under 20 yrs.) and sons Nathaniel and Thomas (under 21 yrs.).S1@
