About Rambert David

Rambert David was born in 1560, the son of son of Pierre David and Marie Peyrettier. He and his wife Benoite Julien had eight to nine children, but we are aware of four sons: Cyprien, Pierre, Didier (would emigrate to New France), and Jacques. Jacques was councilor at the Bourgogne Parlement. His coat of arms was slightly different from his three brothers: "D'azur à la harpe d'or, au chef cousu de gueules chargé d'un loup passant d'or" (Source: H. Lamant).
