About Raoul de Saint-Jean
- Note: Saint-Jean-le-Thomas (Manche, arr. Avranches, con Sartilly) was held ofthe abbey of Le Most-St-Michel by a family of that name, the firstrecorded member of which was Ralph de St-John who, expressed to be a manof St. Michel, witnessed a charter to the abbey which was laid ont healtar of Rouen Cathedral on Christmas Day 1053 in the presence of DukeWilliam and Archbishop Mauger. This Ralph was ancestor of Thomas,William, Roger, & John. [Complete Peerage XI:340-1]
