About Rasmus Arendsen Kjøller, av Kiøllergaard

Rasmus Koeller; født 1530 i Pommern, Tyskland, døde 1574 på Bornholm.

Giftede sig med Boritta, født på Bornholm.

Børn: 1560: Hans Rasmussen Kjøller [4.3]

Bertel Kiøller [4.4]
13448. Rasmus Køller. Born: circa 1520 Bornholm, Danmark. Occupation: circa 1540 Freehold Farmer (Selvejerbonde). Married: circa 1540 Boritta ???datter; Bornholm, Danmark. Residence: circa 1540-circa 1562 Kjølleregård, 13 Slg. Ibsker, Bornholm. Title: 1562 Freeman (Frimand). Occupation: 1562 Land-owner (Proprietær). Residence: circa 1562-1571 Kjølleregård, 35 Slg. Klemensker, Bornholm. Other: 1562 Store Ølegård, 58 Slg. Østermarie, Bornholm. Died: circa 1571 Kjølleregård, Klemensker, Bornholm, Danmark. Miscellaneous: Coat of Arms (Våben): 1562, divided vertically, in the 1st field a half fleur-de-lis attached to the partition. Note: According to Kure's farm-owner list he is the son of a Pomeranian Knight, and nobleman, named Hans von Køller (of Kjølleregård, 13 Slg. Ibsker?). While Edvard Skovgaard states that he is the son of Arend Köller (-1534-1568-) of "Bower" (probably Bauer in Bauer parish, Greifswald county) in Pomerania; and brother to the father of Christen Clausen Köller (-1573-1582-). I am tentatively accepting Kure's assertion.

Rasmus Køller/Köller owned Kjøllergård, 13 Slg. in Ibsker from circa1562-74; and Store Ølegård, 58 Slg. Østermarie from 1562. Rasmus Køller's wife Boritta inherited 35 Slg. Klemensker (then known as Krakkegård, later called Kjøllergård).

Kure's farm-owner list states that Claus Kiøller (circa 1595-1666)inherited Kjøllergård, 13 Slg. in Ibsker parish, from the previous ownerHans Køller (died 1609), who had inherited it from his father Rasmus Køller - who was possibly the son of a nobleman named Hans von Køllerfrom Pomerania. Besides the 13 Slg. in Ibsker, Hans Køller alsoinherited the 35 Slg. in Klemensker; which he later passed on to his sonLaurids Kiøller (died circa 1667). It seems to me that if Rasmus Köllerand Boritta had no children, then her family-farm in Klemensker would probably have been inherited by her relatives, not those of her husband Rasmus Köller. This would seem to point to Hans Køller being the son of Rasmus and Boritta, not Claus Köller. - Norman Madsen, February 6, 2003.

From the "Dansk adelsvåbner, en heraldisk nøgle", page 299, by Sven Tito Achen, Politikens Forlag, 1973, København:

Køller. Coat of arms: Divided vertically, in the 1st field a halffleur-de-lis attached to the partition. On the helmet: two vesselhorns.Colours unknown. * Noble origins: Bornholm. Rasmus Køller in 1562;Christen Clausen of Skovsholm in 1628. See: NDA, page 159.

From the "Bornholmske Samlinger", 2nd edition, volume 7, page 75-76:

The above translated to english:

(Rasmus Køller) lived at Kjøllergård in Ibsker parish, but after Boritta inherited her grandparents's farm Krakkegård in Klemensker parish theymoved there. Krakkegård had been made tax free by the archbiphopric in Lund, however this was the time of the Lübeck occupation and Sveder Ketting (Lübeck's representative) demanded payment of land taxes: a halfbarrel of butter a year. "Borette" gave her opinion of this and as aresult was summoned before the North District council, where on August 1,1570 she was sentenced to a whipping, which was executed. Despite thedreadful and dishonourable punishishment she was not discouraged. She journeyed to København and got the case appealed to the "Herredagen", that era's highest court. There her opinion was agreed with, and the judgement made on June 12, 1572 awarded her a generous compensation, andtax free status was re-confirmed by the king in 1574.
