Ratu Sir George Kadavulevu Celua Antonio Cakobau (9th Vunivalu of Bau)

Died: 1989, at 77 years of age.

1912 - Born on the 6th of November.

         - He was educated at QVS, then at Newington College in Australia and

Wanganui Technical College in Wanganui, NZ.
1938 - Became a member of the Great Council of Chiefs.

1939-1945 - Served with the Fiji Military Forces in the 2nd WW, rising to the rank of Captain.

1951 - Elected to the Legislative Council.

1960 - Served as paramount chief of Fiji.

1970 - He was Minister for Fijian Affairs and Local Government and subsequently as a

         minister without portfolio.

1972 - Elected as Governor General of Fiji.

1973 - Became Governor General of Fiji.

1982 - Retired from office.

1989 - Remained influential until his death on the 25th of November.
