About Ray Roscoe Toms, Sr
OBITUARY : RAY R. TOMS, 83, of Marion, died Wednesday at the Chambersburg Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Born in Myersville, Md., he was a son of J. Elmer and Nettie (Grossnickle) Toms.
He was a retired farmer and was last employed at Letterkenny Ordinance Depot.
Surviving are his wife, Etta (Oberholzer) Toms; 15 sons and daughters, J. Howard, Paul E., Mrs. Woodrow Ressler, Mrs. Fred Henicle, Mrs. Kenneth Wishard, Mrs. Walter Decker, all of the Waynesboro area, J. Russell of Zullinger, Pa., Gladys Toms and Mrs. Harry Myers of Marlon, Mrs. Roy Daughtery of Greencastle, Mrs. Charles Fahrney of Las Vegas, Nev., Mrs. Wayne Hissong of St. Thomas, Pa., Richard L. with the U.S. Air Force in Thailand; Charles F. of Chambersburg, Ray R., Jr., of Fayetteville; two sisters, Mrs. Herbert Layman of Waynesboro and Mrs. Leroy Boyer of Chestertown, Md.; two brothers, John M. of Shippensburg and Austin A., of York; 27 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. from the Zimmerman Funeral Home, Greencastle with the Rev. Donald Moul officiating.
Burial will be in Myersville Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday night from 7 to 9.
