About General Reasin Thomas Beall
U.S. Congressman. Born in Montgomery County, Maryland, he served as a Colonel and Battalion Quartermaster under General Wayne in the Northwest Indian War, (1792-93). Moving to New Lisbon, Ohio, in 1803, he was commissioned Brigadier General of the 2nd Brigade, Ohio U.S. Volunteers and served in the War of 1812. After the war, he was elected as to the Thirteenth Congress to fill the vacancy caused by the death of John S. Edwards, serving (1813-14). Not seeking reelection, he served as registrar of the land offices at Canton and Wooster, Ohio, (1814-24).
