Moses Bowen, with his wife Rebecca Rees, came with a large company from Wales, about 1698, and settled in Guinnedd township, Chester County, Pennsylvania.
"Moses Bowen must have been a man of considerable means, for he acquired ten thousand acres of land in Chester county where he settled. (From "Makers of America", Washington, DC, 1916, pp 491 )
Moses Bowen married to Rebecca Rees. They emigrated with a large company from Wales to Massachusetts. They moved to Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. One source says that he purchased 10,000 acres in Guinned Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania. Another source said that he and the group he arrived with purchased the land for themselves and for other friends and relatives who would be arriving afterwards. An early Quaker settler in Pa.
