Rebecca Brockman

The parents of Rebecca wife of Henry Brockman are unproven.

The following information was culled from Brockman family genealogist Paul R. Brockman postings on GenForum:

"Rebecca Samuell/Salmon married Henry Brockman in 1674, shortly after Henry sold the land in St. Mary's County to which he acquired title in May of that year. They subsequently moved to Virginia, where he had a circle of relatives at the second and third cousin range and where her family had land. Their son, Samuel, was born about 1680 – their only known child.[1]

Henry was indentured for his passage from Barbados (and possibly from England) and was not permitted to marry until after the indenture was satisfied. That Henry would have gone to Virginia after selling his Maryland land in 1674, just after earning title to it, is easily explained by the number of cousins Henry had in the Middle Peninsulas of Virginia. The names of Samuel's sons and grandsons, other than Samuel, are those of Henry's brothers and cousins in England."

1647 -- Rebecca Samuell or Salmon was born at Kent, England OR

1670 -- Rebecca Samuell was born at St. Mary's, Maryland.

1711 -- Rebecca Samuell or Salmon Brockman died at King and Queen [county], Virginia OR at Orange, Virginia.
