Rebecca Walker Dowling. She was the only daughter of Nathanael (1724-1794) Walker and his wife Marion Stanley. Rebecca married William Dowling in abt 1769 as you have correctly stated but it was probably not in Barnwell District, SC as at that time that part of SC was all Indian land which was just beginning to be opened up for settlers.I have located her father in present day Lancaster Co, SC in 1755.At that time he was living in an area of NC/SC which was called the Waxhaw Settlement and was considered a part of Anson County, NC.Nathanael was a land surveyor and he and his many sons obtained land in the vicinity of Cain Creek in the Waxhaws.Nathanael and his extended family moved to the vicinity of the Welsh Neck Settlement in present day Darlington County, SC in about 1765-1770.In all probability, Rebecca married William Dowling while her family lived in the Darlington area. The first evidence found concerning Nathanael Walker in Barnwell District, SC was in about 1770 when he was instrumental in forming a Baptist Church near some artesian springs on his land. These springs were noted by the Indians for their healing properties and were called the Healing Springs.
